Nobody does it better or offers the options we do period...There are 2 reasons that you usually see sectionals in catalogs and retail stores as fixed sizes. First, these pieces are basically laid out so that the seat cushions are distributed evenly. For instance, the normal width of a seat cushion is around 24 inches. (If you go smaller it can make for very “close” encounters of a bad kind.) Therefore, the manufacturers have to limit what they offer in terms of sizes. We solve that problem by offering “bench” or one piece cushions so there are no breaks to cause issues. Secondly, there are 3 kinds of support for sofas/sectionals. (2 old and 1 new) The no-sag, the classic 8-way hand tied, and now the individual coil system. No sag is durable but lacks comfort, the 8-way is great but only on standard sizes where the springs fit spatially in the frame. However, when you do custom, it rarely means standard size or simple layouts. Thankfully, a new support system (and naturally the most expensive) has been born. It is custom sized individual coils like you find in a mattress, and you can cut it to fit any frame within 1.5 inches. It is an amazing luxurious feeling but more, since it fits so well, there are no “dead” spots or harder/softer areas. Many of our clients now even request this system for all their pieces as the feeling is so even and luxurious. Now your sofa/sectional is custom fitted with a mattress that fills every void and gives support where the old methods could not: under the arms, etc. This new method is not only a wonderful advance in comfort but, in durability and quality as well. We exclusively use them on all sectionals and, if asked for, custom sofas. We exist to serve your needs: (Our Sectionals are also stand alone pieces.)Most houses are not designed and built according to the standard sizes of sectionals. The result? A need to create custom pieces that “fit” in between 2 windows that do not equal the “fixed” “standard” dimensions of most manufacturers. Likewise, a custom piece that can follow the curve of the bay window or modern wall. We can add sleepers, chaises, etc. Almost always you are required on “standard sized” sectionals to purchase a corner to attach the other 2 pieces to. Our custom sectionals are usually made of 2 pieces. This means 3 benefits:
A “NO NO” in Sectionals that we make a “YES YES”.There is a reason that all sectionals offered on the market are pillow back...they are easier to make. Karges & Caron exclusively offers tight back sectionals. We do tell you that depending on the fabric type there can be some wrinkling when the pieces are joined together. Visit our sectionals product gallery for photos of some of our sectionals. |
